Today I ate a slice of pizza in a hospital bed and tried to smile as if everything were normal. Some days feel “good.” And others feel heavy. At 16, I thought my problems would be school, my friends, and weekend plans… but now my routine is studying, needles, and waiting. Even so, I’m learning to celebrate the little things: a good result, a peaceful night, a laugh that returns. If you’re reading this, I don’t need perfect words—just a simple sentence, a kind thought, a little bit of hope for today.

Lord and Eternal God, we place Jacob in your loving hands. May your will be done in his life, and may you, Beloved Father, heal him of this illness. You are the Physician of physicians, and in you we trust. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
I declare in the name that is above every name, that the Spirit
that raised Jesus Christ from the dead…that same Spirit will raise you from this bed you are in. Amen. So be it.

Stay strong, little brother. You already bear the name of a warrior, Jacob. Trust in God; He is great, powerful, and merciful. Take heart, for faith moves mountains. Pray for your health! Big hug in Christ Jesus and Mother Mary!

But that rule was shattered the moment I saw my daughter in the ER because her boyfriend had hurt her. I drove straight to his gym. He was laughing with his friends—until he saw me. And what happened next made even his coach fall silent.
